About

I'm a full-stack engineer with 8+ years of experience, strongest on the backend with Node.js and MongoDB. At Touch-A-Life I build and run a family of connected nonprofit platforms: TALGiving crowdfunding with Stripe, Razorpay and PayPal, LiveKit live-audio rooms, telehealth, and blood donation.

I've shipped AI features with Gemini, rebuilt authentication for security (RS256, refresh-token rotation, session revocation), and I work end to end, from API design and data modelling to Next.js and Flutter clients and CI/CD. Our platform runs mainly on Google Cloud (GCP), and I also run services on our own Ubuntu servers alongside the cloud. Before this I built AWS serverless APIs at TCS and Kafka-based services at Sonata Software.

8+years building production software
15connected apps on one shared backend
700+REST routes across 9 deployed services
3payment gateways integrated end to end

Key achievements

Security

Rebuilt authentication for 15 apps

After a penetration test, moved JWT signing from HS256 to RS256 with no downtime by accepting both during a migration window. Added refresh-token rotation, instant session revocation and device tracking for every TAL app. Cross-domain single sign-on is the next step.

Real-time

Built live audio rooms from scratch

Took TALRadio Clubs from idea to production on LiveKit for web and Flutter, with moderation, polls, chat, per-speaker recording and AI transcription that detects each speaker's language.

Performance

Made pages load faster on slow networks

Removed about 135 KB of JavaScript from every TALBloodAid page, loaded maps and Firebase only when needed, and fixed server-rendering bugs that were hurting search rankings.

Payments

Moved money safely across 3 gateways

Built the TALGiving crowdfunding payment flows on Stripe, Razorpay and PayPal, with verified webhooks, withdrawals, payouts, balance calculation and reconciliation reports.

How I work with AI

AI-assisted engineering with Claude Code

I use Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding agent, every day as a pair programmer across our backend, web and mobile repos. I own the design decisions and review every change. The AI does the heavy lifting around them, so I ship faster without lowering the bar.

  • Understand code fastTrace a feature across the API, Next.js and Flutter repos before I touch it.
  • Build and refactorImplement features, migrations and API changes, then review the diff line by line.
  • Debug to the root causeRead logs and stack traces, reproduce the bug, and fix the cause instead of the symptom.
  • Tests and code reviewWrite unit and end-to-end tests, and run an AI review pass before opening a PR.
  • Docs and release notesTurn git history into READMEs, API docs and sprint release notes.
  • AI in the productShip AI features users touch: Gemini translation, semantic ranking and speaker transcription.

Case study: this portfolioOne session · Claude Code

  1. ResearchAnalysed commit history across 20+ repositories to write accurate, evidence-based content.
  2. BuildDesigned a responsive, accessible interface with an interactive canvas, SEO and social share previews.
  3. ShipGenerated the PDF resume and deployed the site to Vercel from the command line.

I directed each step and reviewed every change before it went live.

Nov 2022 — Now

Full-Stack Developer · Touch-A-Life Foundation · Hyderabad

Lead contributor to the Touch-A-Life platform, a group of about 15 nonprofit apps that share one Node.js + MongoDB backend on GCP and our own Ubuntu servers. I own features end to end across backend APIs, Next.js web apps, React admin dashboards and a Flutter mobile app, and manage sprint-based releases to production.

Touch-A-Life core platform shared backend for every app

  • Built backend modules for clubs, events, pitch fest (judges and mentors), NGO volunteers and projects, and WhatsApp, SMS and email notifications.
  • Build and maintain a service-oriented API: 700+ routes over 126 data models, split into 9 separately deployed services plus a Cloud Tasks worker.
  • Rebuilt authentication after a penetration test: HS256 to RS256 with no downtime, refresh-token rotation with a grace window, immediate session revocation and device tracking for all TAL apps. Cross-domain SSO is in progress.
  • Built the payment flows behind TALGiving crowdfunding on Stripe, Razorpay and PayPal: verified webhooks, withdrawals and payouts, balance calculation, reconciliation reports and a two-step organization approval.
  • Added AI-assisted donation recommendations that combine semantic ranking with a relevance weight score, and a Gemini translation provider.
  • Standardized error codes across every API, added remote log-level control, and moved all services to asia-south1 to cut latency for Indian users.
  • Deploy mainly on Google Cloud (Firebase Functions, Cloud Tasks, Storage), and run additional services on our own Ubuntu servers outside the cloud.

TALRadio: live audio clubs ↗ web + Flutter

  • Built a live audio "Clubs & Spaces" product: hosting, speaker requests, host approval, moderation, mute-all, reactions, polls, and threaded chat with replies and edits.
  • Record each speaker separately with LiveKit Egress, then run AI transcription that detects each speaker's language and falls back gracefully when a step fails.
  • Built an audio-merging service that creates radio playlists automatically: it downloads tracks in parallel with retries, then merges them without manual editing.
  • Added passwordless OTP login, reminders and calendar invites, and automated daily and monthly listener reports by email.

TALBloodAid: blood donation network ↗ Next.js · SEO · FCM

  • Removed about 135 KB of JavaScript from every page, lazy-loaded maps and Firebase, and fixed SSR blank pages, soft 404s and hydration errors.
  • Built a live donor-coverage map, push notifications, and resumable direct uploads for large videos with progress tracking.
  • Added AI gallery search with configurable embeddings, and structured request logging with trace context.

TALGiving, TALHospitals & TALYouth ↗ React · Vite · Next.js

  • Built the admin side of TALGiving, our crowdfunding platform: a React dashboard with a role hierarchy, approval queues for fundraisers, organizations and withdrawals, and AI search. Split its APIs out of the core monolith into their own service.
  • Built TALHospitals telehealth APIs (consultations, prescriptions, Google Meet scheduling) and CAPTCHA-protected password recovery, and centralized its Gemini AI model configuration so models can be upgraded in one place.
  • Built the TALYouth app: Google One Tap sign-in, an event registration wizard, a club directory and global search.
